ASL Presents provides performances consisting of storytelling, poetry and the occasional role in a theatrical or television/film production. The performances can take place onstage or on video. For the poetry performances, people can either send in their written poems to be translated into ASL and performed by ASL Presents, or have me present my original ASL poems. I also have a one-woman show, The Museum, which lasts just over an hour and covers a range of stories, poetry, and other items. In this performance, for one part, selected local people will asked to come onto stage and sign some lines from a script. If you are interested in that performance, I will need:

  • A well-constructed stage with lighting that can be adjusted easily
  • A spotlight if needed
  • A jumbo screen, if possible, to show a live video feed so that audience members can easily view my signs
  • Seating for the local people doing the one part so that they can come onstage easily if they do not stay off stage
  • Time to rehearse at least three hours in advance, test lighting, practice lines with the local audience members, and ensure everything is in place for the show
